About Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is nothing but sharing of computing resources.

Cloud computing is defined in two ways they are Business and Technical.

Business: Cloud computing is a type of computing that relies on sharing computing resources rather than having local servers or personal devices to handle applications.

Technical: The practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or personal computers.

Type of Clouds
·         Public Cloud
·         Private Cloud
·         Hybrid Cloud
·         Community Cloud

Public Cloud:
The cloud infrastructure is made available to the general public of a large industry group and is owned by an organization selling cloud services.
                   (Or)
The public cloud allows the general public to easily access its systems and services.

The public cloud has minimal security due to its ease of access.

Private Cloud:
The cloud infrastructure is operated solely for an organization. It may be managed by the organization or a third party and may exist on premise or off premise
(Or)
The private cloud allows a particular organization access to its systems and services.

Since it only shares its resources with trusted employees of an organization, it is theoretically very secure.

Hybrid Cloud:
The cloud infrastructure is a composition of two or more clouds (private, community, or public) that remain unique entities but are bound together by standardized or proprietary technology that enables data and application portability.
       (Or)
The hybrid cloud is an amalgamation both the public and private cloud. Critical activities are performed using private cloud while the non-critical activities are preformed using public cloud.

Community Cloud:
The cloud infrastructure is shared by several organizations and supports a specific community that has shared concerns.
        (Or)
Mission, Security requirements, policy, and compliance considerations
The community cloud allows a group of organizations access to its systems and services
Cloud Service Models

Software as a Service (SAAS):
SaaS model allows using software applications as a service to end-users.

Platform as a Service (PAAS):
PaaS provides the run time environment for applications, development and deployment tools, etc.

Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS):
IaaS provides access to fundamental resources such as physical machines, virtual machines, virtual storage, etc.
